High School Book Award Program
The Atlanta Alumni Association of Phi Beta Kappa’s annual Book Awards program recognizes high school juniors who exemplify the highest level of academic, ethical, and social commitment. The recipients are honored at their respective schools' end-of-year awards ceremonies and each is presented a copy of a book, usually a biography of a leading citizen of the Colonial period of United States history.
Past winners, chosen by their school administrators for exemplifying the principles of Phi Beta Kappa, have had a variety of interests and backgrounds, and include:
a starter on her high school basketball team who also holds leadership positions in the student theater company, math team and literary magazine
a computer network and website designer who has risen to the top ranks academically at his school two years after moving to the United States from eastern Europe
an academic star whose interest in politics earned him a place as a student assistant in the Georgia General Assembly
The Atlanta Alumni Association is proud to award outstanding students at 45 schools in the Atlanta area and plans on continuing to expand the program to honor even more students in the future.
